  AM 019 larsson gothe/crusell concertos

Tomas Agnas
Previous principal clarinettist in
DalaSinfoniettan and Mälarkvintetten.
Active soloist in classical contexts
and as a jazz musician.
The clarinet concerto is written
specifically for Tomas and reflects both
his classical and improvisational abilities.

The Clarinet Concerto was dedicated to Tomas Agnas who also premiered the work. His imaginative playing opens the door to the world of Mats Larsson Gothe. Bernhard Crusells Concertino for Bassoon (cadenza written by Mats Larsson Gothe) represents a completely different epoch and style which is greatly enhanced by Gabriel Litsgård´s virtuosic and stylistic performance. The two contrasting concertos are brought together by a collaborative improvisation over a theme by Vivaldi. Tomas and Gabriel often perform as a duo, seeking new innovative forms of performance; spontaneous whims and playfulness can at times take control of a concert, leading it to a destination which perhaps was not always intended..

Gabriel Litsgård
Principal bassoonist in Dala
Sinfoniettan, formerly in Malmö
Opera Orchestra. As a baroque
bassoonist he performs with
Concerto Copenhagen and
Ensemble 1700, among
other ensembles.
