In 2013, the Swedish accordionist Anita Agnas was named "The Accordion player of the Year" by the Swedish Accordion Association. The idea was then born to record some classics from the world of entertainment, and now the CD with Elsborgs Kapell is a fact. The record is a tribute to some legends like Swedish accordionist Erik Frank and the singer Louis Prima. The members in Elsborgs Kapell were from the start Anita Agnas accordion, Elisabeth Lagergren violin and Tomas Agnas on the clarinet, guitar, bass, drums and arrangements. The band has now three new members: Christer Malmgren guitar, Staffan Lindfors bass and Mathias Dahl drums. |

Can I get a table, but not so close to the orchestra". My father's words sound in my memory. A small chapel, a trio, from Falun adopts twelve standards from the restaurant musicians' repertoire with love and a twinkle in their ear. It's La Paloma, Besame Mucho, Tiger Rag and Bei mir bist du schön. The tunes are deconstructed, dissected, put together and brought back to life. Tiger Rag becomes a puzzle where we get to see one piece at a time, and small features like cookie jar drums rattle. It's lounge music. Easy listening but where Frank Zappa, Putte Wickman and Erik Frank sit in occasionally. As in Kiss of Fire. The seduction of the seductive melody is interrupted by a crazy drummer who gets knocked off until the calm recovers. Well, the guitarist takes the last word of course.”
