Ballads from Tornedalen arranged by Tommy Lakso for guitar, double bass, marimba and accordion.
Jazz musician and guitarist Tommy Lakso has documented old Tornedalen folk songs based on Hasse Alatalo's book Nurmen Lintto, and arranged them for an instrumental setting in the folk/jazz tradition.

Tommy's roots are in Kukkola and he has participated in several productions with a connection to Tornedalen and mienkieli, for example at Tornedalsyran in Stockholm. The group Munfado, which mixes Portuguese fado with lyrics in mienkieli, and singer Carina Henriksson's productions are other collaborations.
The participating musicians, in addition to Tommy Lakso himself, are Fredrik Hangasjärvi accordion (Accordionist of the Year 2024), Johan Tegheim marimba and Tommy Skotte double bass.
