Lars Hökper's compositions have a personal voice that is recognizable and appreciated by many. Several of Lars's songs have become classics, not least Hökper's waltz, which is a widely played folk song, widespread and loved by fiddlers in Sweden and abroad. The compositions have inspired musicians to different interpretations and Hökper's waltz has been published in versions with everything from Latin American brass, Portuguese fado to Swedish ballads. This diversity of interpretations is a source of inspiration for this project where the compositions are played with different musicians and settings: vocals, traditional song playing, string quartet, soloists, organ/piano and bass, etc. Lars's compositions have over time become a rich contribution to the folk music repertoire.
